Electric water heater

A lack of hot water may be caused by the supply, controls or an electrical component in the water heater.

Situations that can be reviewed

The symptoms, panel protection and operating mode are reviewed to direct the electrical diagnosis.

  • The heater no longer produces hot water
  • A breaker trips when heating starts
  • A contactor or control no longer responds
  • A cable, connection or control needs replacement

How a request is prepared

Describe the symptoms, location and level of urgency. Photos can add useful context. The team then checks the relevant trade, area and availability before any intervention and its conditions are confirmed.

Safety first

Do not remove covers. If water is present near a cable or electrical connection, touch neither the appliance nor the water and keep the area clear.
